RT830i-B is designed for near-distance barcode reading. It is a fixed-mount module for embedded use. With a thin design, it can be embedded in ATMs, POS terminals, turnstiles, lockers, laptops, self-service terminals, notebooks, and also medical devices/ instruments, etc.
It supports sense mode which detects and reads barcodes automatically, builds in USB and TTL-232 interfaces, and the RS232 interface is optional. So you can connect it with your terminals via USB directly (no need for any other kit board) or 12pins TTL interface.

Super thin design
The ultra-thin appearance and seamless integration of the imager and decoder board facilitate the integration of the barcode scan engine RT830i-B into a wide variety of thin-and-light devices, such as POS terminals, and laptops, ultra-thin advertising terminals, medical devices, etc.
Strong illumination for dark environment
RT830i-B has been optimized to use eight illumination lights instead of the regular 4 illumination lights so it can read different kinds of barcodes quite well even in a very dim environment.
Support most 1D&2D barcodes reading
It supports reading most types of common 1d&2d bar codes, whatever is read from paper or from a phone screen, including QR code, Data Matrix, PDF417, EAN code, etc.
Large field of view, suitable for near-distance reading barcodes
This module has a large field of view, which is outstanding at near reading on-screen or paper bar codes even when the screen is lower brightness or poor quality printed. For example, the Min. readable distance is 1.5cm for the 5mm DM code
