Fixed Mount Barcode Readers
Here is the full list of RTscan's fixed-mount barcode readers & embedded barcode scanners. All of them are 2D readers, read QR codes, DM, PDF417, etc.
- RT240, RT241, RT242, and RT235 are for general use, while RT240 is featured by REACH Certified / IEC62471/EN62471 LED/ Special design to protect user's eyes /Enhanced illumination/ Excellent reading performance/ Easy mounting design. RT241 has a standard range version, a short-distance version, an extended range version, and a high-resolution version. RT242 featured a thin design, which can be embedded in all kinds of thin devices. RT242 also has a standard range version, short distance version, and extended range version.
- IDE237 is used for reading PDF417 code and OCR-B / machine-readable zoon data on ID cards, driver's licenses, and passports. It can also be used as a high-resolution barcode reader due to its high-resolution imager sensor: 1280*800.
- The RT234 is an IP54 industrial 2D fixed-mount scanner for dust/water-sensitive applications. Its sensor is 1280*800, making it a high-performance scanner.
- RT230H/ RT236 are for general purpose use. But RT230H is only kept for old projects; for new customers, we do not sell it anymore.
- RT820, RT870, RT830C, RT830D, and RT860D are used for near-field use. Users place the bar code close to the scanning window, and the scanner detects and reads the code automatically.
- RT860D has an enhanced image processing chip and 1280 pixels (H)x 1024 pixels (V) image sensor, it is designed for all kinds of applications that require high-speed code reading, such as Self-checkout/ POS Kiosks in retail applications.
Tip: A fixed-mount scanner like RT240, IDE237, or RT234 can read at farther distances because it provides more concentrated and intense illumination, and an embedded scanner like RT820, RT870, or RT830C is used for near-filed bar code scanning. For example, we usually choose a near-field scanner like the RT870 or RT830C type for the turnstile or vending machine, but we would choose a far-area scanner like the RT240 for the parcel locker stations.
